About this board game
Ecogon is a tile-laying ecosystem game for 1–6 players, with play lasting around 120 minutes. Players use hexagonal tiles to shape networks of plants, animals, and habitats.
As the designer of an ecosystem, your goal is to create the broadest and most stable network possible. Animals score points when they can live in the ecosystem, which means connecting their tiles to the habitat, plants, and other animals they need for survival.
Each tile contributes to a larger ecological network. By placing tiles side by side, players build relationships between living creatures and their surroundings, gradually bringing an ecosystem to life on the table.
- Build ecosystems from interconnected hexagonal tiles.
- Connect animals with the habitats, plants, and other animals they need.
- Score points by creating places where animals can live.
- Face challenges introduced by event cards.
- Play together or compete against one another.
Event cards bring challenges throughout the game, testing the stability of the ecosystems being created. These changing conditions add another element to the task of developing a broad and resilient network.
Ecogon supports both cooperative and competitive play, letting players decide whether to work together or allow each ecosystem to stand against the others. In either mode, the central focus remains the same: connect the right elements and let nature take shape through your tile placements.
With its combination of hexagonal tile building, animal survival needs, scoring, and event-driven challenges, Ecogon presents an evolving ecosystem-building experience for a wide range of player counts.
