About this board game

Glass Garden is a solo board game for one player that takes about 15 minutes, challenging you to cultivate a thriving terrarium while a troublesome critter damages your plants.

Your garden is built from eight plant cards and one of four possible critter cards, bounded by glass cards to form a 3×9 grid. Each plant needs a different combination of resources to grow, so careful movement and timing are essential.

On each turn, move up to two plants vertically and/or horizontally. Arrange them to form bundles of resources in fertile zones, the areas where two rows meet. When a plant has everything it needs, flip it to its grown side. Grown plants provide additional resources and immediately trigger a useful ability.

  • Move plants to create resource bundles in fertile zones.
  • Grow succulents by meeting their individual resource requirements.
  • Use plant abilities as soon as plants reach their grown side.
  • Manage the critter as it advances and lowers specific plants by one row.

Plants grown along an edge also flip neighboring glass cards to their sunlight side. These cards grant additional moves at the end of the game, giving successful edge growth an extra benefit.

After each turn, the critter moves one space to the right before damaging specific plants. When it reaches the far wall, the game ends. Take any available sunlight moves, then score each grown plant according to its height. In Glass Garden, your final result reveals whether your terrarium is a dirty dud or a thriving masterpiece.
