About this board game

Intruder is a 1980 board game for 1–3 players, with an average play time of about 60 minutes, in which players confront a rapidly changing alien aboard the deep-space station Prometheus.

The Intruder begins as an unknown threat released from the laboratory, then moves through the station as both hunter and hunted. During the game, it undergoes metamorphosis into a more powerful being, creating an ever-changing challenge for the players.

Its development may take an even more dangerous turn: the Intruder can possibly divide into two or more clones. Players must cope with a monster that moves rapidly while its abilities and presence continue to change throughout the game.

The detailed playing map shows the interior of Prometheus and includes special charts for recording the Intruder’s development. The components bring the setting to life with 54 multicolor, die-cut playing pieces.

  • Crew members and their weapons
  • Lab animals that can confuse the search
  • The evolving Intruder and its possible clones
  • A detailed map of the Prometheus space station
  • Charts for recording the Intruder’s development

Designed as an exciting game of terror and suspense, Intruder supports solo play as well as games for two or more participants. Its compact release was Task Force Games Pocket Game #6.

Intruder was later reimplemented as Hidden Intruder, using the same design with improved graphics and modern manufacturing methods.
