Each player secretly places an army, strongholds, and a flag on the gameboard map. Once the battle begins, move and attack cautiously as the forces of good face the forces of evil. Victory goes to the strongest, but the ultimate objective is clear: capture the enemy’s flag first.

Gandalf, Legolas, Frodo, and other forces of good stand ready to confront the Witch-king, Saruman, Ringwraiths, and the forces of evil. The familiar Lord of the Rings setting gives this strategic contest a distinctive theme while preserving the tension of hidden deployment and careful attacks.
