About this board game
Lost Patrol is a jungle exploration mini-game for 2–4 players, with play lasting about 30 minutes. One side takes the role of the scout-marines, while the other controls the mysterious “lurkers.”
The game board is built from hexagon tiles as the scouts travel through dense jungle. With every step forward, the terrain divides into new sections, creating a changing route toward the dropship. The scouts must continue exploring while trying to keep their team together.
The scout-marines’ mission is clear: reach the dropship before the lurkers eliminate them. As the expedition advances, some teammates may become lost in the jungle, never to be found again. This gives the journey a sharp survival focus as the team pushes farther from safety.
- Hexagon tiles create the jungle board as the scouts move forward.
- One side plays the scout-marines, while the other plays the lurkers.
- The scouts must reach the dropship before they are eliminated.
- Lost teammates may never be found again.
Lost Patrol was the second publication in a series of mini-games from Games Workshop. Its editions also differ in presentation: the first edition uses familiar Warhammer 40,000 miniatures for the scouts and cardboard tokens for the lurkers, while the second edition includes plastic Warhammer 40,000 miniatures for both the scouts and the genestealers.
With its tile-built jungle, divided terrain, and opposing forces, Lost Patrol presents a focused trek through dangerous wilderness in a compact format.
