About this board game

Wonky is a 2015 stacking game for 2–99 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players try to get rid of the cards in their hands by carefully stacking blocks on top of one another.

The challenge lies in choosing how to arrange each block. Ideally, you create a stack that remains standing while setting things up so that someone else takes a spill and ends up with more cards in hand. A successful arrangement can help you move closer to victory, while an unstable one may give another player the advantage.

At the heart of Wonky are its distinctive special blocks. The game includes nine blocks in total, with different sizes and surfaces that make every placement a balancing decision.

• Three small blocks

• Three large blocks
• Three flat sides and three curved sides on each block

Because the blocks combine different sizes with flat and curved sides, the way they are positioned matters. Players must consider whether a placement will support the growing stack or make it more likely to topple.

Set up the blocks in just the right way, and you can block an opponent’s path to victory. With its hand-management objective and precarious physical construction, Wonky turns every card and block placement into part of the race to get rid of your cards first.
