About this board game
Ringo is a two-player board game that takes about 15 minutes to play, combining four-in-a-row goals with movable rings on an unbounded square grid.
The game begins with eight rings: four red and four blue. On each turn, the active player places a disc matching their color in any ring of that color. They then move that ring to an empty space orthogonally adjacent to any other ring.
This movement creates a fresh twist on the familiar four-in-a-row objective. Players must look for opportunities to build a line while also changing the positions of the rings across the open playing area.
Victory can come from more than one kind of line. The first player to create a row of four in their color wins, whether that row is made from discs or rings.
- Designed for exactly two players
- Approximately 15 minutes per game
- Unbounded square-grid playing area
- Orthogonal or diagonal rows can win
- Four matching discs or four matching rings complete the winning condition
Because both discs and rings can form a winning row, every placement and movement matters. A player may be close to completing a line with discs while an arrangement of rings offers another route to victory.
Released in 2018, Ringo offers a compact head-to-head contest built around simple rules and a distinctive ring-moving system. Race to be the first to connect four matching discs or rings in a straight orthogonal or diagonal row.
