Rival Realms

About this board game

Rival Realms is a standalone 2018 game for 1–2 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Using a shared pack of magical cards, rival Magicians summon the legendary land of Fantastiqa and compete to create the most valuable realm.

Players play cards from their hands to build Regions and adventure through each of their Rival Realms. As the realms take shape, Magicians explore arcane landscapes, search for fabled beasts, and gather strange and wonderful artifacts.

Adventure Tokens bring Creatures and Artifacts to your aid. These discoveries provide special actions that help you explore farther and develop your realm while competing against your opponent.

• Create and explore fantastical Regions.
• Connect Regions of the same type to score points.
• Complete Quests and collect Adventure Tokens.
• Use Creatures and Artifacts to perform special actions.

Every card contributes to the contest as you decide how to expand your realm and where to seek adventure. The player who scores the most points by creating and exploring Regions, connecting matching Regions, and completing Quests wins.

Rival Realms does not require a copy of Fantastiqa to play. It offers a self-contained journey into a weird and wondrous world where clever exploration and imaginative realm-building determine which Magician claims victory.
