About this board game

Bomarzo is a deep strategy game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. Set in sixteenth-century Italy, it places you among the feudal lords of the Orsini family, competing to earn your lord’s esteem.

Each player manages one of four minor fiefs: Collepiccolo, Castelvecchio, Montenero, or Mompeo. Develop your territory as effectively as possible, carefully managing your resources and making decisive choices during the game’s short duration.

The mysterious park of Bomarzo is more than a setting. Its immense mythological figures represent supernatural forces whose favor can shape your fortunes. Each turn, you can carry out various operations in your fief while deciding which deity to court.

• Develop your chosen fief to gain an advantage over rival lords.
• Place workers through auctions to seek the favor of the park’s gods.
• Make the specific offerings each divinity requires.
• Use the power of the monstrous deities to support your ambitions.

Divine favor comes with danger. If a god does not receive the required offering, that deity may unleash a monstrous fury upon unwary visitors. Success therefore depends not only on building the strongest fief, but also on choosing which powerful and prestigious deity deserves your devotion.

In Bomarzo, resource management, worker placement, and auction decisions are closely connected. To prevail over your rivals, develop your domain wisely and bind your fortunes to the supernatural force best able to advance your cause.
