About this board game

Cornerstone Essential is a 2–4 player tower-building and climbing game with an approximately 45-minute play time. Players work together in teams or compete head to head, placing blocks to build their towers and racing to reach the top.

Each turn presents a strategic choice. Place a block to give the Climber a better vantage point, or use your construction to block an opponent’s progress. Success depends on both dexterity and mental ability as you look for ways to outmaneuver the other players.

As the towers rise, the tension increases. Every new block makes the structures taller while also making them more unstable, turning each move into a test of precision and judgment. The growing height creates an increasingly exciting race toward the summit.

The central challenge is simple to understand but increasingly difficult to manage: can you keep your tower standing long enough to reach the top? In Cornerstone Essential, the winning move may advance your own climb, hinder a rival, or help your team, but every placement contributes to the instability of the structure.

Released in 2010, Cornerstone Essential re-implements Cornerstone. Whether played cooperatively in teams or as a direct race, it combines physical construction with tactical decisions as players pursue the top before the tower falls.
