About this board game
Tweeeet is a 30-minute migration game for 2–6 players, in which robins and bluethroats race north to reach their summer breeding grounds in good shape.
Each player controls a bird belonging to one of the two types. Landscape tiles create a route from south to north, featuring grassland, impassable lakes, and trees containing food. Your bird must manage its energy carefully: flying costs energy, while landing at a tree lets you eat the food found there.
- Strawberries provide 2 energy points.
- Purple berries provide 3 energy points.
- Caterpillars provide 4 energy points.
- Beetles provide 5 energy points.
On each turn, move to a new tree space. The number of spaces you travel equals the amount of energy lost, so longer flights require better rewards to maintain your strength. Choosing routes and food wisely is essential as the birds make their way toward the breeding ground.
Communication between birds depends on distance. Birds of the same type within six spaces of one another can discuss tactics. At a distance of 7–9 spaces, they may only twitter, while birds ten or more spaces apart may only flap their wings.
When the surviving birds reach the breeding ground in the north, birds of the same type flock together. After every bird is in its nest, calculate the team’s average energy level. In Tweeeet, the strongest team at the finish is the one with the highest average energy.
