The Lord of the Rings: The Mines of Moria is a two-player board game with a 30-minute play time, released in 2005 and based on The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Designed as a starter set, the game takes players through the Mines of Moria in a step-by-step tutorial. As the journey progresses, players learn the nuances of play before putting their knowledge to use in the climactic Battle of Balin’s Tomb.

This structure makes the game an introduction to its rules as well as a themed adventure through one of the most recognizable locations from the film. Each stage leads toward a final scenario where the lessons from the journey come together.
