About this board game
Channel A is a game for 3–6 players about presenting anime TV show ideas, with each session lasting about 30 minutes. Players build show concepts from premise cards and title word cards, then pitch their ideas to the group.
At the start of a round, one player selects two premises from a set of five randomly chosen premises. These premises provide the foundation for the anime shows that players will present.
Each player has a hand of ten title word cards. From that hand, they select up to four cards and use the chosen words to create a title for their show. They then make a pitch to the other players, explaining the show associated with that title and the selected premises.
- 3–6 players
- Approximately 30 minutes per game
- Randomly selected premises
- Ten title word cards in each player’s hand
- Secret-ballot voting
Once all the pitches have been presented, the players vote by secret ballot on who had the best show pitch. The competition centers on how each player combines the available premises and title words into an anime TV show idea.
Premise cards and title cards are drawn from the vast ocean of anime shows, giving Channel A a focused format for inventing and presenting new concepts. Released in 2012, it offers a compact anime-themed pitching game for groups of three to six players.
