About this board game

Viking Raiders is a historical simulation of Viking raids during the 8th to 11th centuries, designed for two players and playable with up to four. The listed play time is 240 minutes, offering an extended conflict set across European coasts.

The game brings the age of the great Viking raids to the tabletop with sea and coast maps, ship counters, and rules supporting a range of historical scenarios. The Standard Games edition includes one sea map and one coast map, while the Eurogames edition includes two of each, plus two small cape maps forming the “Island Fortress” map set.

  • Four standalone Viking Raiders scenarios
  • Two additional scenarios combining the game with Siege and Cry Havoc
  • Seven different scenarios listed with the game’s rules and components
  • Ship counters and maps for sea and coastal engagements

Viking Raiders can be played as a self-contained game or used as a companion title within the Cry Havoc series. Its combined scenarios expand the experience by linking Viking warfare with the settings and systems of Siege and Cry Havoc.

Released in 1987, Viking Raiders focuses on the historical era of Viking expansion and coastal raiding. BoardGameGeek lists the game for 2–6 players, while its original description presents it as a two-player design that can be played with up to four.
