About this board game

The Wreck of the B.S.M. Pandora is a science-fiction board game for 1–5 players, with a playing time of approximately 120 minutes. It simulates a desperate race against time as a biological survey team works to repair its damaged spaceship.

The ship’s systems are moving toward an irreversible and fatal cold shutdown. Players must scramble through the vessel in search of the tools and weapons needed to give the crew a chance to save their ship before time runs out.

  • Designed for 1–5 players
  • Approximately 120 minutes of play
  • Work separately or together as members of the biological survey team
  • Confront dangerous alien specimens roaming the corridors
  • Race to repair the ship before cold shutdown becomes irreversible

The biological survey team’s situation becomes even more dangerous when alien specimens break loose and roam the corridors. While the crew searches for essential equipment, these potentially dangerous creatures add another threat to an already critical mission.

Players can approach the emergency separately or together, making the struggle to restore the ship a shared effort or an individual one. The Wreck of the B.S.M. Pandora presents a serious space-survival scenario centered on urgent repairs, limited time, and escaped specimens.

First published in 1980 as part of Ares Magazine #2, the game continues with Voyage of the B.S.M. Pandora. Its theme is similar to The Awful Green Things From Outer Space, though that game is much less serious in tone.
