Monster Trap

About this board game

Monster Trap is a cooperative team-based board game for 2–4 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. The monsters are loose in the mansion, and players must catch them all before Grandma Frieda sees them.

Players work in teams of two to guide each monster toward the middle of the mansion and into the monster trap. Each teammate has a different job: one controls the monster’s lateral movements, while the other controls its longitudinal movements.

Use the sliders to push the monster through the mansion as quickly as possible. Coordinating both directions is essential as teams try to get their monster into the trap before Grandma, who is standing outside the front door and is terribly frightened of monsters, sees what is happening.

Monster Trap combines teamwork, quick movement, and a race to capture as many monsters as possible. The player or team that has pushed the most monsters into the trap by the end of the game becomes the best monster catcher and wins.

Released in 2011, Monster Trap offers a focused mansion adventure built around shared control and a clear objective. Work together, guide the monsters toward the center, and hide them from Grandma before she spots them.
