TOSSIT

About this board game

TOSSIT is a pétanque-inspired activity game for 2–10 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Using Tossits made from elastic material, players can compete on almost any flat surface, including tables, windows, and even cars.

At the start of each round, a player throws the Jack, a specially colored Tossit that becomes the target. Each team then uses its three available Tossits to get as close to the Jack as possible. The aim is simple, but every throw can change which team has the advantage.

As long as one team’s Tossit remains closest to the Jack, the opposing team must continue throwing until it comes closer. This creates a lively back-and-forth inspired by boule, while the elastic Tossits also give TOSSIT similarities to darts.

• Play with 2–10 players.
• Use tables, windows, cars, or other flat surfaces.
• Each team throws three Tossits per round.
• Be the first team to reach 13 points.

When the round ends, the team with the Tossit closest to the Jack scores one point for each of its Tossits that is closer than the opposing team’s nearest Tossit. The winning team then throws the Jack for the next round, giving it the first chance to establish the target position.

Released in 2023, TOSSIT offers an accessible competitive challenge with straightforward scoring and an unusual playing surface. Whether played as a pétanque variant or enjoyed for its dart-like throwing appeal, it turns a variety of flat spaces into the arena.
