About this board game
Nile is a card game for 2–5 players with a playing time of about 30 minutes. Released in 2009, it centers on drafting cards, managing resource types, and responding to a new flood card at the beginning of every turn.
The game contains 92 cards. Five suits represent resource types in Egypt, while specialty cards show multiple resource types. Players draft cards into their hands and play them according to the game’s simple rules.
At the start of each turn, a flood card is drawn. It shows one or more resource types, creating the condition that determines what is harvested during that turn. The resource type shown is harvested by the player currently growing it.
- 92 cards in the complete card game
- Five suits representing resource types in Egypt
- Specialty cards showing multiple resource types
- Card drafting into players’ hands

With its straightforward rules and changing flood cards, Nile presents a focused card-game experience built around what players hold, play, and are currently growing. The 2–5 player format and approximately 30-minute playing time make its structure easy to understand from the outset.
Nile was re-implemented with an additional expansion as Nile DeLuxor. This later version is noted as the re-implementation associated with the original game.
