Warmaster Ancients

About this board game

Warmaster Ancients is a tabletop wargame for two players, with battles designed to take around 90 minutes. Published in 2005, it lets players recreate large and spectacular conflicts from the ancient world by commanding huge armies on the tabletop.

Send hordes of Vikings into battle, commit whole Roman Legions to heroic victory or ignoble defeat, and take control of forces drawn from a wide range of historical armies. The game provides the rules and information needed to field and fight battles, making it a complete foundation for ancient and related historical engagements.

Warmaster Ancients was specially created for the newest ranges of 10–12mm “grand” scale models, allowing players to represent large and impressive armies. It also accommodates smaller 6mm armies, while an appendix explains how players can use larger models.

The book includes 25 army lists, offering a broad selection of forces and periods. Notable examples include:
