Dragon Racer

About this board game

Dragon Racer is a card drafting and set collection strategy game for 2–4 players, with play time of about 120 minutes. Across seven turns, players recruit dragons, power their racing teams, and compete to move farthest along a wondrous racetrack.

Each player begins with three random level 1 dragon cards, placed face up beside their character to form a racing team. The starting dragon deck combines the remaining level 1 and level 2 dragons, while racetrack tiles determine which additional dragons enter the competition as the race unfolds.

On each turn, a new racetrack tile is revealed and its associated dragons are added to the deck. Players receive dragon cards based on the turn number, then simultaneously draft them face down until every card has been taken. Trophy cards establish the order for the next racing phase, giving the player in last place the first opportunity to act.

• Draft dragons to build useful collections and support your racing team.
• Fire up your racers with drafted cards or use them to attack other players.
• Swap one card with a dragon on your team at the end of the racing phase.
• Earn extra boosts by collecting the most dragons of each racetrack type.

The key to success lies in supplying your racers with a steady stream of support from dragons on the track. After the seventh turn, the player who has advanced farthest wins. For larger groups, two copies of Dragon Racer can be combined to support up to eight players.

With simultaneous drafting, tactical attacks, set collection, and changing trophy order, Dragon Racer makes every turn a contest for the cards and boosts that can carry a team toward victory.
