About this board game

Wiz-War (9th Edition) is a board game for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Released in 2023, it casts players as wizards competing inside a twisted maze.

At the center of the game is a deck of cards used to cast spells, power up existing spells, and augment movement. Each wizard can move up to three spaces during a turn, while number cards can provide additional movement.

The maze is divided into sections belonging to the players. To win, a wizard must enter an opponent’s section, take one of that player’s treasures, and bring it back to their own home base. This creates a direct race through the maze while wizards use their cards to influence play.

• Play as a wizard in a twisted maze.
• Use cards to cast and power up spells.
• Move up to three spaces, or farther with number cards.
• Capture rival treasures or eliminate the other wizards.

In Wiz-War, victory goes to the first player to capture two opposing treasures or kill all the other wizards. Every turn combines movement with the possibilities offered by the card deck, as players seek a path into enemy territory and a safe return to their base.
