About this board game
The Draugr is a solitaire board game for one player that takes about 20 minutes. In the region of Trøndelag, six reanimated dead imbued with magical powers seek to corrupt the town of Stjørdal, and only a lone revenant hunter can stop them.
Each round unfolds in two phases: Corruption and Hunt. During Corruption, roll the six-sided die to determine which Draugr holds sway over the town, then roll again to identify the corruption sigil that affects cards in that Draugr’s row. Townspeople and Locations may receive Corruption Markers, while a turned-over Townsperson does not receive additional markers.
During the Hunt, move your player marker up to two adjacent cards, moving orthogonally across the layout. The Nunnery and Foundry are exceptions to this movement rule. After moving, you may use the Special Action of the Townsperson or Location where you landed, although turned-over Townspeople offer no Special Action.
- Use Special Actions to place Holy Water or Iron Markers on Draugr.
- Match the required number of markers to slay a Draugr and return those markers to your supply.
- When a Draugr is removed, an adjacent Draugr may expand its influence across additional rows.
Your objective in The Draugr is to slay four of the six Draugr. You lose if all seven Townspeople, or more than seven cards in total, become corrupted during the Corruption phase. Success forces the remaining Draugr to flee, while the town’s survival depends on every move and marker.
