About this board game

Chill: Black Morn Manor is a tile-laying board game for 2–6 players, released in 1985, with a playing time of about 120 minutes.

Players build Black Morn Manor by laying tiles, gradually creating the grounds where an evil Master resides. As the manor takes shape, the game centers on discovery, hidden identity, and the search for the object that can make the Master vulnerable.

Most players take the roles of Envoys. Their task is to uncover the identity of the Master, locate the item to which he is vulnerable, and destroy him. These objectives give the Envoys a clear mission as they explore the manor they are constructing.

One player begins as the Minion, pursuing a different goal. The Minion attempts to find the influence item and remove it from the grounds, creating a separate threat within the struggle for Black Morn Manor.

  • Players: 2–6
  • Playing time: 120 minutes
  • Core activity: Lay tiles to build the manor
  • Envoy objective: Discover the Master, find his vulnerability, and destroy him
