About this board game

Foundations of Rome (Emperor Edition) is a city-building board game for 2–5 players, with a play time of about 60 minutes. Take the role of an architect competing to own land and develop a magnificent shared city of Rome.

On your turn, choose one of three important actions: purchase a new lot, build a new building, or collect income. Develop your holdings with domūs, insulae, fountains, foundries, and other structures, each helping increase your renown and bring glory to yourself and the empire.

At the end of each round, players collect Glory Points based on the population and commerce they have brought to the city. Civic buildings offer another route to glory, scoring not only from your own buildings but also from those built by your opponents.
