About this board game

ThreeTale is a cooperative fairytale adventure game for 1–3 players, with a listed play time of 120 minutes. Choose heroes with stories reaching far into the past, then combine their asymmetric talents to confront a prophecy of eternal doom.

Each game unfolds across four phases: Prophecy, Past, Present, and Future. During the Prophecy phase, three possible scenarios of doom are revealed. Their clues help the players draft the heroes best suited to the challenges that may lie ahead.

In the Past phase, every hero can develop their stats and talents. Heroes move their miniatures across a board built from tiles, collecting Virtues, Shevitsa, and Speed cubes along the way. They can also enter Battles, complete Quests, and gain Treasures and Artifacts by drawing cards.

• Variable player powers: Heroes bring distinct talents and can grow stronger during the Past.
• Strategic tile placement: Build the board as the heroes explore and move through it.
• Card-driven discoveries: Battles, Quests, Treasures, and Artifacts add adventure to the journey.
• A little dice rolling: Chance joins planning as the team works toward its goal.

After the Past phase, the Present reveals which of the three prophecies will come true. Then the Future arrives, bringing its own backstory, inhabitants, and win condition.

Every Future asks the team to overcome a different kind of threat. You may need to battle a mighty enemy, gather precious resources, or simply fight for survival. In ThreeTale, the heroes must adapt their plans and talents to discover what it will take to save the world.
