Gears of War: The Board Game is a cooperative board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 180 minutes. Designed by Corey Konieczka and released in 2011, it puts players in the roles of COG soldiers fighting to destroy the Locust horde.

After Emergence Day, the subterranean Locust army overwhelms humanity’s defenses, leaving billions dead and the human survivors facing a final, desperate stand. Players must support one another as they take on dangerous missions against an unflinching enemy.

Each game challenges the team to complete one of seven randomly constructed missions. Success depends on teamwork and communication, as the COG soldiers work together to gain a tactical advantage and strike a blow for humanity.

The game recreates signature action from the video game series. Players can Roadie Run into cover, spray enemies with blind fire, or use a Lancer’s chainsaw to rip an enemy apart. Every soldier is needed, so supporting fellow COGs is vital to completing the mission.
