About this board game

Brigands is an asymmetric deduction and trickery game for 2–6 players, with games lasting around 50 minutes. The King is away, leaving the prince in charge of the city and its treasure while rival brigand bands plot to fill their pockets.

Each game lasts six turns. On every turn, players secretly and simultaneously send their three crew members to districts of their choice. Once all choices are revealed, the crew members enter the city, creating a tense contest of prediction and deception.

If the prince’s crew shares a district with a brigand’s crew, the thieves are arrested before they can grow richer. If no prince is present, brigands can plunder the district. Each district offers a unique way to loot the treasure, so choosing where to send your crew is only part of the challenge.

Action tokens add another layer of uncertainty. Played on a district at the beginning of a turn, they may let a player steal or push another player’s crew—or run to a different district at the last moment. Even arrest is not always the end of a brigand’s plans: thieves in jail can await trial or attempt an escape.

  • Prince: Protect the city’s coffers and improve your abilities throughout the game.
  • Brigands: Outsmart the prince and rival bands while seeking valuable loot.
  • Victory: The prince wins if no brigand steals 50 Ducats by the end of the sixth turn; otherwise, the richest bandit wins.

With hidden movement, rival objectives, district-specific looting, and evolving abilities for the prince, Brigands makes every decision a calculated risk.
