King Frog

About this board game

King Frog is a fast-paced frog-moving game for 2–4 players that plays in about 15 minutes. Players compete to stay in the game as long as possible while trying to land on the right spots around the pond.

Each player selects a card from their hand to move a frog. Frogs hop over any frogs in the way, and lower-numbered cards get priority, making the order of movement an important part of every turn.

Landing on a lily pad in your color lets you return the played card to your hand. Landing elsewhere means the card is discarded, so choosing where to move can affect how long you remain in the game.

• Select cards from your hand to move your frog.
• Hop over frogs that block the path.
• Use lower cards first when movement is resolved.
• Reclaim cards by landing on a lily pad of your color.

A player who runs out of cards is eliminated. The game can also end suddenly when the frog in front—the king frog—hops over the frog in last place. In that case, the king frog wins.

With spatial thinking, clever planning, and a bit of luck, King Frog creates a lively race around the pond. Its short playing time and straightforward movement rules make each game a brisk contest of positioning, timing, and card management.
