About this board game
Castle Flutterstone is a 2–4-player racing game with a play time of about 25 minutes, first released in 2016. Players compete to reach the top of an old stone castle and win the Magic Cup.
The race takes place in the mysterious ruins of Burg Flatterstein, where obstacles and odd surprises stand between each player and the finish. On each turn, the active player uses the game’s catapult to launch a cloth bat onto the board.
Where the bat lands determines what happens next. A successful landing may allow the player to move 1 or 2 spaces, helping them find the fastest route through the castle. If the bat lands in the moat, however, the player must draw a Ghost card.
- Launch cloth bats with the catapult.
- Move 1–2 spaces depending on where the bat lands.
- Draw a Ghost card when a bat lands in the moat.
- Use Ghost card effects that may help or hinder progress.
Ghost cards add unexpected twists to the race. Their various effects can either support a player’s progress or slow them down, so every turn may bring a helpful opportunity or an inconvenient surprise.
Castle Flutterstone combines a race through a ruined castle with a playful test of luck and skill. The first player to reach the top claims victory, along with the golden bat trophy.
