About this board game

Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack is a tabletop game for 2–5 players that lets you build LEGO robots, defend objectives, and fight with friends in sessions of about 150 minutes.

This tenth anniversary edition of Vincent Baker’s Mechaton invites you to create a company of robots called mobile frames. Build your machines out of LEGO, set up a table with a few friends, lay out objectives to defend, and get ready for battle.

Rapid Attack is designed to support both guided play and creative exploration. It provides the instructions you need to get started, including:

  • Play instructions for taking your game to the table
  • Building instructions for creating mobile frames out of LEGO
  • Advice for making your own setting

The designs and setting offer a place to begin, but the game encourages you to go beyond what is provided. Like a LEGO set, building the model shown on the front can be fun; building your own thing is where the possibilities really open up. Use the included setting, create something new, or explore house rules as you shape your own version of the game.

Fans of VOTOMS, Dougram, Macross, and Gasaraki are specifically invited to join in. Whether you follow the presented designs or invent a setting of your own, Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack puts building and shared imagination at the center of its robot battles.

Released in 2012, this edition brings together construction, setting creation, and tabletop conflict for players ready to build robots and see what they can do.
