About this board game
1750: Britain vs. France is a two-player game of global conflict, designed for a 60-minute play time. Take command of Britain or France and decide the outcome of an 18th-century struggle for control of North American, African, and Indian colonies.
Recruit generals and admirals from the Seven Years’ War, also known as the French and Indian War, and the War of the Austrian Succession. Then send military forces into contested colonies, where armies of bayonet-wielding soldiers and massive sailing warships fight to expand your influence and secure valuable exports for your economy.
Combat is resolved with dice, but the result is not always left to chance. Historic event cards can modify dice rolls, destroy enemy cards, and turn critical battles in your favor. Alongside military campaigns, you can pursue political efforts to persuade other world powers to join your cause and contribute their resources to the conflict.
- Play as Britain or France in a two-player contest.
- Recruit generals and admirals connected to historic wars.
- Fight for colonies across North America, Africa, and India.
- Use event cards to influence battles and disrupt your opponent.
- Persuade other countries to enter the war on your side.
Your final score reflects the scope of your achievements: captured colonies, countries persuaded to join your cause, and enemy leaders taken as prisoners. In 1750: Britain vs. France, every military and political decision helps determine whether you change history or see it repeat itself.
