About this board game

Wok Star (3rd Edition) is a cooperative real-time restaurant game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Together, you must grow a Chinese restaurant, serve customers, and reach the required profit by the final round to keep the business open.

Customers are represented by a deck of cards featuring various Chinese dishes. Orders are served one at a time while a 30-second sand timer is running, so everyone must handle their responsibilities simultaneously. Each dish requires a specific combination of ingredients, making coordination essential.

The kitchen board tracks the levels of ten prepared ingredients. To prepare more, players spend dice in different combinations. Players take on different tasks, and the whole team must work together quickly while the timer counts down.

• Serve customer orders using the required ingredient combinations.
• Spend dice to prepare and replenish kitchen ingredients.
• Pool money between rounds to improve the restaurant.
• Use new recipes, upgraded preparation cards, and coupons to develop the business.

The third edition adds new ways to manage your dice and your limited time. You can re-roll dice by washing dishes or modify them with hustle. Fortune cubes limit how often players can share dice, adding another restriction to the kitchen’s frantic teamwork.

Daily goals must also be reached each round, or the players lose immediately. With customer service, ingredient preparation, investment decisions, and new edition rules all competing for attention, Wok Star challenges the team to build a profitable restaurant before the opportunity disappears.
