About this board game
Green City is an urban planning board game for 2–6 players, with a play time of approximately 45 minutes. Players build a sustainable transit network, connecting Riders to their destinations before the supply of tiles runs out.
Each successful Walking, Biking, Bus, or Tram connection earns Victory Points. Longer Tram and Bus routes score more points, while Bike and Walking Paths are most effective at medium or short lengths, creating different considerations as you extend your network.
Turns proceed clockwise, and every turn follows the same three-step sequence:
- Place a Path Tile
- Send Riders
- Draw a New Tile
As you place tiles and lay down paths, you immediately dispatch Riders along the new routes. You can also activate bonus tiles to gain additional points for routing through specific points on the map.
Managing your Riders is essential. Try to send as many as possible, because leaving Riders stranded at the end of the game causes significant penalties. The game ends when the Cloth Bag is empty; after that, each player places the final tile in their hand.
With its route-building focus and multiple transportation types, Green City challenges players to connect destinations efficiently while adapting to the tiles available. The player with the most Victory Points at the end wins. Released in 2026, it combines tile placement, Rider dispatching, and immediate scoring into a race to complete the most rewarding sustainable network.
