The Sandcastles of Burgundy

About this board game

The Sandcastles of Burgundy is a 2–4 player game with a 20-minute play time, in which you decorate your village for Queen Crab’s royal beach party.

Collect points by finding the right decorations hidden beneath sand castles. The key challenge is remembering where the animals of the royal guild are hiding—and finding them before your opponents do.

Each round, roll your two dice at the same time. Use them to choose between two important kinds of action:

• Search sand castles for decorations and place anything you find in your warehouse.
• Use your cart to transport previously collected decorations to your village.

Once you have collected two decorations of the same color, you can search for the matching animal of the royal guild. Completing the animals’ shops is a race against the other players, while your growing collection of decorations helps determine your final score.

The dice keep every turn focused on a meaningful choice: seek out more decorations or move the ones you already have toward your village. Keep track of the hidden locations, plan your actions, and try to complete your decorations before someone else reaches the celebration.

As soon as a player reaches Queen Crab’s beach party, the dice round ends. In The Sandcastles of Burgundy, the player who has collected the most points wins.
