Magical Friends and How to Summon Them is a competitive board game for 2–5 players that plays in around 90 minutes. Across 8 rounds, you take the role of a powerful wizard competing to bring the most friends to the tavern for the Midsummer contest.

Each round, choose one of the available summon cards and place its corresponding magical creature standee on the board. The card also determines how many creatures can move and how far they can travel that turn. With 50 unique creatures, every summon brings a different ability and a different way to interact with the creatures already in play.

As the rounds continue, the board fills with creatures and guiding them through the paths to the tavern becomes increasingly difficult. The paths are double-sided and can be combined in many different ways, giving the play area a changing structure to navigate. Your opponents’ creatures may prove even more dangerous than the paths themselves.

Creatures can be slain or poisoned amid the chaos, but losing a friend does not leave you without hope. Each friend you lose grants pity power, allowing you to speed up one of your other buddies. This catch-up possibility means you can stay in the lead or potentially win from behind.

With shifting routes, rival creatures, and varied summon cards, Magical Friends and How to Summon Them turns every round into a contest of movement, powers, and timing.
