Heroes of the Shire: Collectors Edition is a turn-based combat game for 1–6 players, with games lasting about 180 minutes. Players cast spells, use abilities, and discover powerful combos while battling enemies across competitive and cooperative game modes.

In Arena Mode, players fight to become victorious. A variety of arena formats is available, including free-for-all battles and team games, offering different ways to challenge other players.

Scenario Mode is a cooperative adventure in which players travel through a themed scenario, defeating bosses and trash mobs using an adventure tile system. One pre-selected player takes the role of the Villain, defending the enemies by taking actions for each enemy unit.

Each scenario includes three epic boss battles, with individual encounters lasting anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours. The difficulty of a boss can be adjusted at any stage, and its statistics can even be modified during a battle, allowing players to adapt the challenge as their adventure unfolds.

Scenario games are flexible as well: players can join or leave as they see fit. For adventures that cannot be completed in one evening, a saved game sheet is available so the group can continue later. With its large selection of characters, spells, abilities, bosses, and combat formats, Heroes of the Shire offers a different battle experience from game to game.
