About this board game

Kumata is a fast-paced 3D domino game for 2–4 players that takes about 20 minutes to play.

Forget traditional domino alignment: in Kumata, players stack dominoes to create a vibrant jungle canopy. Only the tiles that remain visible score points, so every placement can protect your own spaces or cover valuable tiles belonging to your opponents.

On your turn, play the domino from the top of your personal stack and place it on the board. Each space on the domino must cover another space with the same value, regardless of clan. A 1 covers a 1, a 3 covers a 3, and so on. Empty spaces are wild, allowing them to cover or be covered by any value.

Timing matters, and a single special move can change the canopy. Once per game, you may play your totem to protect one of your dominoes and gain bonus points. The game ends as soon as a player can no longer play, and the clan with the most visible points wins.

• Duel mode: tense head-to-head play for 2 players.
• Multiplayer mode: more chaotic competition for 3–4 players.
• Maze mode: a variant introducing new tactical challenges.
• Alliance mode: tense 2-vs-2 team play.
