About this board game

Loading is a real-time card-drafting game for 2–7 players that plays in about 5 minutes. Everyone races simultaneously to collect as many progression points as possible, balancing speed against careful searching.

Most players begin with a deck of cards, while one player waits with an outstretched hand. As soon as you receive a deck, examine it as quickly—or as thoroughly—as you choose to find a progression card for your stack. Cards must be played in ascending order, but they do not need to be consecutive, so you can skip ahead when the right opportunity appears.

After playing a card, pass the deck to the player waiting for one. This creates a continuous, fast-moving flow with no regular turns. You must decide whether to search quickly for an easy opportunity or spend more time looking for a stronger progression play.

• Simultaneous play: Everyone acts at the same time in a real-time race.
• Ascending stacks: Play progression cards in increasing order, without needing sequential numbers.
• Limited STOP bonuses: End your run by discarding a deck and taking a STOP card—but there are not enough for everyone.
• Flexible challenge: Includes a two-player mode and an expert mode for skilled players.

When you believe you have gathered enough progression points—or simply hold a strong position—you can discard the deck instead of passing it onward and claim a bonus STOP card. Waiting too long may leave you without one, making timing just as important as card selection.
