About this board game
Slyville is a bluffing and resource-management board game for 3–5 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set in a major medieval trade and cultural center, it casts players as guild leaders competing to become the city’s most influential master.
Each guild sends trusted henchmen into different districts to find bargains, make deals, and gather power and wealth. Your plans may not always be completely legal, so reading your opponents and concealing your intentions are just as important as managing your resources.
At the start of each turn, players hold seven cards and must play four of them onto spaces on the district boards in the center of the table. Card actions help players bid for goods in five different types, which can later be spent to complete valuable deals.
- Play cards to district boards and use their actions.
- Bid to acquire goods in five types.
- Predict what rival guilds need and disrupt their plans.
- Spend the required goods to claim deal tiles worth 20–40 points.
When a player reaches 100 points, the endgame is triggered. The remaining players receive one final turn before scores are counted, and the highest scorer wins. In Slyville, successful guild masters must combine careful planning with bluffing, opportunistic deals, and a keen sense of what their adversaries are trying to accomplish.
