Animal Upon Animal: Unicorns is a stacking game for 1–4 players that takes about 15 minutes to play.

On each turn, a player rolls the die and then carries out one of the available animal-building actions. They may place either one or two animals on the existing stack, putting their placement skills to work as the structure grows.

A player may instead pass one of their animals to another player, who must place it. Another option is to put an animal on the table, extending the base and giving future turns a larger area from which to build.

• Roll the die at the start of each turn.
• Place one or two animals on the stack.
• Pass an animal to another player for them to place.
• Place an animal on the table to extend the base.
• Take back up to two pieces if any fall while building.

The central challenge is managing the animals in front of you while adding pieces to the stack without causing anything to fall. If pieces do fall during your building attempt, you must take up to two of them back, increasing the number of animals you still need to play.

The first player to have no animals in front of them wins. With its die roll, stacking actions, passing option, and expanding base, Animal Upon Animal: Unicorns presents a compact race in which every placement can affect who gets to finish first.
