About this board game
Foragers is a strategy game for 2–4 players that plays in about 60 minutes, placing you among ancient foragers competing to become the most respected member of the tribe.
Each round, every player secretly chooses one action card from a hand of three. Each card shows five possible actions, but only four can be used. In clockwise order, players perform their chosen actions until everyone has completed four actions.
Move across the landscape to pick fruit, fish in lakes, and hunt aurochs. You can also eat, rest, discover, share food with the tribe, and pick up tools. Tools help you forage, fish, or hunt more efficiently, giving you additional ways to optimize your actions.
- Gather fruit, fish, and aurochs as you explore.
- Use tools to improve your foraging, fishing, and hunting.
- Share food with the tribe to earn victory points.
- Compete in occasional skirmishes to earn respect.
Food is stored on your tableau, where its freshness is tracked. At the end of each round, a spoilage card is revealed and all players age their food by moving it along the food track. Older food provides less energy when eaten, and food must be shared before it spoils if you want to score victory points.
This creates a race on two fronts: compete against the other players while managing the steady pressure of nature. The strongest plan balances food and tool gathering with timely sharing, efficient actions, and the choice to avoid or win skirmishes.
Played over a predetermined number of rounds based on the player count, Foragers challenges you to turn limited opportunities into food, respect, and the tribe leader title.
