About this board game
Zargos is a strategic conquest game for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Each player leads one race—Dragons, Spiders, winged knights, monks, or Amazons—in a struggle to conquer the capital of the kingdom of Zargos.
The world of Zargos contains five continents and eleven kingdoms. At its center lies the Forbidden City, the capital and ultimate objective. Players expand their influence by attacking from territories they control, then reorganizing their forces to prepare for future battles.
Controlling territory earns points, and those points can be spent on reinforcements and boats. Taking control of an entire kingdom unlocks the ability to purchase magic cards, whose effects influence different aspects of play. These cards add powerful opportunities to an already competitive struggle for position.
- Lead one of five distinct races, each with its own combat and reorganization advantages.
- Attack enemy territories and rearrange troops during each game round.
- Spend territory points on reinforcements, boats, and magic cards.
- Resolve combat with D6 rolls influenced by the number of participating units.
Every race brings characteristics and features that can shape its approach to warfare. Some may hold an advantage in combat, while others benefit from more effective reorganization, making the choice of race an important part of planning.
Victory in Zargos goes to the player who occupies the four central areas of the kingdom of Zargos. Reaching this goal requires building armies, managing territory points, exploiting magical effects, and choosing the right moment to strike toward the Forbidden City.
