About this board game
Keesdrow is a word-finding board game for 2–6 players, with play lasting about 60 minutes. Designed for ages 8 to adult, it challenges players to identify words in a maze of letters and compete for the highest score.
Players connect adjoining letters in sequence, moving up, down, left, right, or diagonally. A letter may even be used more than once within the same word, creating opportunities for inventive word building. As each word is identified, the player places a colored peg in the hole of every letter used.
Every letter can be used a maximum of three times during the game. Its first use scores the normal value and receives a green peg; the second doubles its value and changes the peg to yellow; the third triples its value and changes the peg to red. After that, the letter is expired and cannot be used again, giving the game a memorable stoplight-style resource system.
- Word search: Find words in a changing maze of letters.
- Flexible movement: Connect letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
- Rising values: Use letters again to increase their scoring potential.
- Limited availability: Track which letters are green, yellow, red, or expired.
Keesdrow is suited to family gatherings, evenings with friends, or a quick break during the day. Its components include 64 double-sided wooden tiles, 300 colored pegs, a two-minute sand timer, a score pad, a peg case, a tile storage bag, and illustrated instructions covering the first twelve turns.
Recognized as a 2006 Mensa Select game, Keesdrow combines familiar word-finding play with tactical decisions about timing, letter use, and scoring.
