About this board game

Krone & Schwert is a territory-building board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes.

Build a growing realm by constructing forts, cities, and cathedrals. You also need a large piece of land on which to develop your holdings, turning territorial expansion and construction into the foundation of your campaign.

Each turn gives you three action points to spend. Cards drive both building and fighting, giving the game a clear card-based structure as players develop their territories and contend with one another.

• Seek extra victory points tied to the cathedrals, cities, and forts you own.

The struggle for power reaches its decisive moment when a player starts a revolution and attempts to become king. Success depends on how many other players stand behind the challenge. If the other players support the existing king, the attack fails, and the victory points go to the king and the players who helped defend the crown.

Throughout the game, cards can provide extra victory points for every cathedral, city, and fort in your possession. In Krone & Schwert, building a strong territory is only part of the contest: the crown itself can become the ultimate prize.
