Magic Fold

About this board game

Magic Fold is a racing board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Designed by Bruno Cathala and released in 2018, it combines a fast folding system with a magical race across the desert.

Players take the role of racers travelling by magic carpet toward a sky palace, alongside a friendly genie. Each turn, choose between four magical formula cards, then fold the magic carpet quickly before your opponents finish. Speed and timing are essential as everyone competes to secure the most useful position.

Players take tokens in the order they complete their folds. These tokens work together with the magical formula cards, giving players ways to fly through the desert or interfere with others as they try to reach the goal first. The race can also bring unexpected setbacks, including traps, or opportunities to move faster in the wind.
