About this board game

Dragon Boats of the Four Seas is a board game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of approximately 45 minutes, released in 2019. Each player leads a noble house in Zhong-Guo, the Middle Kingdom, and seeks to restore the glory of the former Empire.

Zhong-Guo is an island surrounded by the four Dragon Seas. After a long period of strife, the land has been unified once more, allowing the noble houses to rise from the ashes and look beyond the dangerous waters toward the wealthy vassal states of the old Empire.

Dragons are central to the world of the game. They are believed to bring good luck and provide celestial power, inspiring offerings at temples, dragon-imaged coins at marketplaces, prayers for fruitful harvests, and boats shaped in their likeness for protection at sea.

As the leader of a noble house, you must balance several important pursuits while preparing for the voyage ahead:

• Build farms to support the prosperity of Zhong-Guo.
• Trade as you develop your house and engage with the marketplace.
• Make offerings to the Dragons in hopes of safe passage.
• Send ships across the Dragon Seas toward the forgotten lands of the former Empire.
