About this board game
Lucia is a solo or cooperative solitaire card game for 1–6 players, with a play time of about 20 minutes. It is based on the Scandinavian tradition of Lucia, celebrated every year on December 13.
In the game, the Lussekids form a train that needs to be rearranged into the traditional order. Lucia must be at the front, while the Starkids belong at the back.
There is an additional problem to solve: all of the kids’ candles have gone out. Players must use the Tomtens to start spreading the fires from one child to the next, bringing light back to the entire train.
The central objective combines arrangement and illumination. To win, you must complete both parts of the task:
- Rearrange the Lussekids so Lucia is in front and the Starkids are in back.
- Light all of the kids’ candles again.
Lucia supports either solitary play or a cooperative game for up to six players. Its compact, focused format makes the traditional Lucia theme the heart of a straightforward shared objective: restore the proper order and bring light back to every candle.
