About this board game

Diceland: Ogre is a two-player dice battle playable in about 10 minutes, pitting one player’s powerful Ogre Cybertank against an opposing force of smaller units.

The game includes one four-inch die representing the Ogre and 16 smaller dice for lesser units. The Defender selects units worth 30+X points, where X is the cost of the smallest unit. Every die has eight sides with changing attack and defense values, along with special powers.

Each turn begins with the Defender. A player may activate a die already on the table, or throw a new die onto the table and activate it immediately. Instead of attacking, a die can move by rotating on its edge, seeking a better firing position or exposing a more useful face.

  • Facing matters: the direction of a die affects attacks.
  • Range is selective: it matters when one potential target is closer than another.
  • Combat shifts dice: a higher Attack destroys a target, while a lower Attack shifts the target one side.
  • The Ogre can fire and move: its flexibility makes it difficult to eliminate.

If the Defender gets several dice onto the table, they gain a Command Post that can activate every die, helping bring down the Ogre. The Ogre also has a systems card, allowing its weapons and treads to be attacked.

The first player to score 50 points wins. The Ogre is worth 50 points, while the Command Post is worth nothing, so destroying it is not the objective. With its tactile dice, changing faces, and focused scoring goal, Diceland: Ogre turns the Ogre conflict into a compact tabletop clash.
