About this board game

CO-OPS is a cooperative military simulation for 1–4 players, with sessions lasting around 120 minutes. Each player commands an infantry platoon, tank platoon, or helicopter squadron of the French Army while the game itself controls the opposing armed terrorist groups.

Victory depends on close coordination between the different arms. Players must work together to overcome the friction and fog of war of a complex joint operation, combining each unit’s capabilities to improve their chances in battle.

Choose from 10 scenarios, play them as standalone missions or as part of campaigns, or create a situation from scratch. The box’s wide variety of units and modular terrain tiles support an effectively limitless range of geographical layouts, while a simple budget system lets each player compose their section.

  • Enemy units leave their bases and move automatically toward objectives or nearby player units.
  • Combat considers detection, weapon range, firepower, ability to take fire, and terrain.
  • Different weapons have distinct strengths and weaknesses, encouraging thoughtful combinations.
  • Players must resupply units, replace losses with reinforcements, and monitor morale.

Each turn represents about 15 minutes of real time, and a scenario can last up to 15 turns. Board squares represent roughly 100 meters of real terrain, creating a structured battlefield where movement, positioning, and timing matter.

With rules that can be explained in just a few minutes, CO-OPS places its depth in player interaction. A simple dice roll resolves combat, but careful preparation and coordinated decisions can give the group the best possible odds against an enemy that never stops advancing.
