Kites

About this board game

Kites is a cooperative game for 2–6 players that takes about 10 minutes to play. Everyone works together to keep a collection of colorful kites in the air, represented by sand timers.

On each turn, players play cards, flip the sand timers, and coordinate their actions with the rest of the group. The timers create a shared challenge: if one runs out, a kite has crashed.

Success depends on keeping track of the timers while deciding how to play the cards. The whole group must work together to manage the kites and prevent any timer from reaching the end of its sand.

• Optional difficulty: add complication cards for additional challenges

To win, play all of the kite cards in the deck. If the group manages to do so, everybody wins, making Kites a focused test of coordination and shared attention.

For players who want more pressure, complication cards introduce additional challenges to the experience. Released in 2022, Kites brings its theme to the table through colorful sand timers and a straightforward cooperative objective: keep the kites flying until the deck is complete.
